I loved the reception. Everything was very elegant and romantic without reading too feminine. We had good food, free booze (a must in my book), a great photo booth, and great speeches. The coolest part about my wedding was that I got to command all of my favorite people in the world to be in one room at once. Yup, that’s my fave.
This past year has been such a whirlwind for me! Between getting married and being incredibly busy at work, I’ve barely had time to come up for air. But I must say, I’m loving it all. Our courthouse ceremony was great. Since all weddings go off without a hitch, there was a freeway crisis that caused most of the party attending to be an hour or more late. Luckily, we were able to wait for them and still actually get married. Go us! I’m still waiting for a few more edits on professional photos but would love to share once I get them.
Hello everyone, I will be taking a while off from blogging in order to snuggle puppies. As kids go back to school, there will be a shortage of family puppy snugglers but, thankfully, I’m willing to fill the void.
In reality, this is not the case as much as I wish it was. The next couple of weeks are actually crunch time for my Practice of the Year application at work and I barely have time for anything right now. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I will have plenty of wedding posts coming up. I just finished making invitations and they turned out so beautiful. I’ll be putting together centerpieces and trying on wedding dresses so stay tuned.
Is there a better aspect of wedding preparation than food tasting? I don’t think so. Garrick, myself, and my planner were able to sit down and enjoy various options for appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts. I was so stuffed afterwards but it all tasted incredible and I feel really fortunate that my guests will be able to enjoy some good eats.
With three months before our chosen wedding date, I completely changed reception plans from a daytime outdoor event to an indoor evening dinner. In my perfect world, I would have plenty of time to put together an inexpensive DIY wedding reception but I realized I just don’t have time for that. So I found a beautiful locally owned, fine dining restaurant with gardens. The best part? A lot of things will be taken care of for us. There are already nice oak tables and I don’t think I’ll cover up with linen. I can use their sound system for streaming the music of my choice. Aside from centerpieces and the cake table, there really isn’t much to decorate, the ambiance is already established. Stay tuned for more wedding posts to come!
I am one of those people that loves weddings. Even if I were invited to someone’s wedding that I hardly know I would be that chick in the back silently crying as the couple says their vows. Not only do I love weddings, I love a themed wedding, let alone a Disney-themed wedding.
